Our story

From one island house to a family of brands

HIGA Foodservice opened in Honolulu in 1946, supplying the islands' restaurants and hotels with proteins built for the local plate. Over three generations that knowledge grew into Richwell Group — adding Maxfield Seafood, Don Felipe, and Mr. Wok, and expanding to the mainland with hubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Today we import, process, and distribute frozen protein and seafood nationwide — seafood, Hispanic, and Asian specialties — for both foodservice operators and retail shelves. The scale is bigger; the standard is the same one our grandparents set.
